Skype is saying bye-bye to its users, here' s why?

Skype the voice & video calling app owned by Microsoft is going to its end now, as Microsoft officially announced skype is being retired on May 2025, all the features will be disabled along with the credits available on skype for calling. Microsoft recommended users to shift to Microsoft Team app which provides you the same features as skype.

History  

Niklas Zennstorm introduced the first ever voice and video calling app known as Skype, it was initially released in the year of 2003. In 2005 eBay bought the skype app, later in the year of 2011 it was acquired by the Microsoft. There were lots of changes comes to the skype app released for windows, iPhone and android phones.

Why skype is retiring?

According to the reports Skype is going to be retired, caused by various factors or similar apps Providing the same features seamlessly free.

There are lots of voice and video calling apps that offer unlimited free-of-cost voice & video calls where skype was the first app that was introduced to connect people using chat, voice and video calls with a Skype credit. Here people have to buy some credits and utilize them by using the Skype features.

What about the skype credits?

The Skype credits, bought by the skype users will be transfer to the Microsoft Team along with its all data for free.
