Overview
Apple released the new iOS 18 one of the most operated and popular mobile OS that gives life to the iPhone. It was launched in June and was updated on the 16th of September bringing many new features for the iPhone.
iOS 18 comes preloaded with the new iPhone 16 and can be upgraded to the latest version of the iPhone model.
Here’s how to download
To get the iOS 18 update on your iPhone, follow the steps below:-
1. Open the settings app on your smartphone.
2. Scroll to general, and tap on “Software updates”.
3. The iOS 18 update will be available, tap on Download & Install.
4. Finally, the iOS 18 will get downloaded in the background.

1. Apple Intelligence
In this era of AI, Apple decided to make all its devices less with Artificial intelligence named Apple Intelligence.
It makes it easier to rewrite the text using a “writing tool”, i.e. summarise the long text into small ones. Also focusing on the important mail in the mailbox, the recorded transcript on the notes app gets summarized by Apple Intelligence.
Using “Image Wand” you can just make a circle and the sketch gets converted into a relevant image.

You can organize apps and widgets wherever you want on the home screen, it doesn’t matter is it the center or the corner of the home screen.
Rearranging the apps and widgets will make easier to open the most used apps instantly as before. It gives you the full privilege to place your apps and widgets in the place you want. You can also edit your Lock Screen and add verities of widgets inside it.
- Change the colours of the app icons
The icon of the app’s color can be changed as same the wallpaper behind it, making it appear light, dark, and same as the wallpaper using tint, making them smaller as well as bigger.
- Control Centre has a new look
As compared to previous versions, the iOS 18 update has changed its Control Centre. You can add different pages to the Control Center and also you can resize the features as well.
In the new control centre, at the top right side the “Add button” (used to add more controls) and on the left side the “Power button” (used to turn off the phone) is given, just after that a Music Widgets and for connectivity the Wi-Fi, hotspot, Bluetooth, Cellular network and Airplane mode can be seen. The control centre has different pages the first Page consists of the most used controls (denoted by a favourite logo), the second one is the Music Widgets, the third page is for connectivity, and to add more pages need to tap & hold the last Control Page, then tap on “Add a Control” option to select the widgets and add it manually to create a new Control Page.

The new Photos app is made to keep your library self-organized, easy to search and keep your memories in a collection.
4. Make a message Schedule.
Send the message whenever you want by Send Later button, used to make the message a time to send it to the recipient.
5. Safari browser is more smart than before
